Multi-Purpose Exchange Sacrifices Part I
These are more difficult to categorize accurately. The main problem is intuitively evaluating the consequences of the sacrifice and whatever the activity of the lesser pieces surpasses the potential usefulness of the opposing rooks.

The aim of this sacrifice is to damage the opponent's pawn-structure and to generate threats against the king. Defending against this sacrifice often proves exceptionally difficult.
