Everything is set for young chess players to join in the “2nd Youth Scholastic Chess Tournament” to be held on April 30, 2011 Saturday 10:00am at Makati Youth Center, Guadalupe Viejo, Makati City. The activity is organized by Makati Chess Club(MCC) headed by Club President Atty. Vic Aceveda in cooperation with Youth Sports Development Department by Marlyn King and Ador Biniegla of Sports Development Office. “We are thanking Sportsman Mayor Junjun Binay and City Administrator Marjorie De Vera for the inclusion of our chess activities to the Makati Youth Center”
The tournament shall be played in two categories: Youth Kiddies (Elementary Category) and Youth Junior (High School Category including those ages not over 20 years old). Open to all non-titled chess players or whose NCFP Rapid Rating is below 1950, Seven (7) Round Swiss System with allotted time of twenty five (25) minutes per player to finish the game. Participants must bring any school documents to submit as proof of participation in their respective categories.
Prizes in each category will be the Champion P 1,000, 2nd P 500, 3rd P 300, 4th P 200 with Trophies and special awards to 5th to 10th Place with Trophies also. The tournament will be supervised by Arbiters Boyet Tardecilla, Albert Dacallos, Jaime Alviz, Francis Magpily, Dennis Lopez, Pete Andan and Tony Yu of the National Association of Philippine Chess Arbiters (NAPCA).
